Fleet Service

Mission

The mission of the Fleet Services Division is to provide efficient, operationally responsive, and cost effective maintenance and fleet support services to County customers and partnership agencies. The Division operates like a business using an internal service fund. It charges customers for services provided and must be self-supporting and competitive in its service pricing without subsidies from tax revenues.

Responsibilities

The Division is professionally accredited by the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and has repeatedly been awarded the distinguished Blue Seal of Excellence. The Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair and disposal of a multitude of assets, including:

  • Construction equipment such as backhoes, wheel loaders and excavators
  • Fleet vehicles including emergency vehicles such as police cars and fire trucks
  • Fueling stations throughout the County
  • Trailers
  • Turf equipment to include lawnmowers, tractors, utility vehicles, blowers, weed eaters and more
  • Yorktown Trolleys
