Comprehensive Plan Review

The 2013 Comprehensive Plan - Charting the Course to 2035 - is the culmination of sixteen months of work that began in February 2012 and included six public information and input sessions (four of which were conducted jointly with James City County and the City of Williamsburg as part of the coordinated comprehensive plan review process), eleven special work sessions, and two public hearings. The Plan was approved by the Planning Commission at its June 12 meeting and adopted by the Board of Supervisors on September 3, 2013.

On July 22, 2014, the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association honored York County, James City County, and the City of Williamsburg with its "Outstanding Regional Planning Process" award in recognition of the coordinated comprehensive review process.
