I still have a TFC cart/I have not received my new York County cart.  What should I do?

Please call Waste Management at 757-890-3780, or email waste@yorkcounty.gov.

I want to use the drop off location in Yorktown for recycling.  Do I need to separate recyclables?

Paper and cardboard have to be separate from "comingled" materials at the dropoff sites.  There are two large containers on site.  One is for the paper products (including small amounts of cardboard, various types of paper and paperboard - i.e. cereal boxes etc.) and the other is for the "co-mingled" materials (including plastic, glass, aluminum and steel cans.)

In additional to the items generally placed in your curbside containers, at our dropoff site on Goodwin Neck Road we also take large quantities of cardboard inside the bay area.  Additional stations are outside for cooking oil, motor oil, antifreeze, and batteries.  We also take tires for a small fee ($1.50 off the rim; $3.00 on the rim for regular vehicle tires.)

Where can I take my recycling?

York County Residents may use  the  following location free of charge.

  • York County Waste Management Center, 145 Goodwin Neck Road Monday – Saturday (7 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
