Study Rooms

Do you need a quiet or private space to study, watch a webinar, or meet with others? The York County Public Library has you covered! We have study rooms and group rooms available at the Tabb Library and Yorktown Library.

Tabb Library

There are six rooms available at the Tabb Library for the purposes of quiet study and discussion. Group Study Room #1 can comfortably seat 1 to 10 people; Group Study Room #2 can seat 1-6 people; and Group Study Rooms #3 and #4 can seat 1-4 people. A reservation is required. Individual Study Rooms 1 and 2 can seat 1-2 people comfortably. A reservation is not required. All rooms have white boards, tables, and chairs. If you wish to borrow white board markers for use in the rooms, please see the Reference Desk.

Reservation Guidelines

Tabb Group Study Rooms can be reserved for a maximum of 2 hours per day, per patron/group, to ensure fair distribution among library patrons. Reservations are accepted online and can be made 30 days in advance. Reserve the Group Study Rooms through the room reservation calendar., stop by the Tabb Reference Disk, or call 757-890-5120.

Individual Study Rooms 1 and 2 are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not required.

Cancellation Guidelines

If you make a room reservation and find that you are going to be late or are unable to make that reservation, please call the Tabb Reference Desk at 757-890-5120 to make arrangements to adjust your reservation or cancel it. Reservations will be automatically canceled if the patron is more than 15 minutes late for the reservation time without contacting the Reference Desk. If a patron fails to show for two reservations in a 30 day period and does not contact the Reference Desk to cancel those reservations, any subsequent reservations the patron has for the next 30 days will be canceled. The patron then will be barred from making any new reservations until after the 30 days.

Yorktown Library

There are three study rooms and two group rooms available at the Yorktown Library for the purposes of quiet study and discussion. The three study rooms have tables and chairs and can accommodate 1-2 people. The two group rooms have tables, chairs and a wall-mounted screen that you can connect to your device. The group rooms can accommodate 2-6 people. Reservations are required for all five rooms at Yorktown Library.

There are also three Huddle Spaces available for tutoring or discussion. These spaces do not have doors, but offer tables with tabletop charging hubs, four chairs and are surrounded on three sides with whiteboards mounted on book shelves. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and do not need reservations.
