Up to 12 months before an election. If you apply by mail, fax, or email application must be received by the General Registrar by the Tuesday before the election. Please apply early to allow time to receive your ballot and return it by Election Day. If you apply in person the application must be made and ballot voted by 5 p.m. on the Saturday before the election in the Office of the General Registrar. While regular absentee voting ends at 5 p.m. on the Saturday prior to the election, you may qualify for emergency absentee voting in a few, limited circumstances.
