The York County Department of Public Works, will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 28, 2025 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on two projects to review and discuss plan information, answer questions, and receive citizen comments. The public hearing will take place in the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, 159 Goodwin Neck Rd, Yorktown, VA 23692. Project information will be available 30 days prior to the public hearing at request from Elizabeth.Mertz-Guinn@yorkcounty.gov or in person at the York County Public Works Office at 105 Service Drive, Yorktown, VA 23692.
Tabb High School Crosswalk Project:
The County is working with a design consultant and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to design the crosswalk to be located on Route 706 (Yorktown Road). The 6-foot-wide crosswalk will include safe street design principles, along with a new sidewalk, providing students that live close to the school the opportunity to safely and easily cross the street to walk to school.
