The original item was published from June 22, 2021 to December 28, 2021 3:43 PM

"Teen
It's time for Summer Reading! This year, York County Public Library has a full summer of activities for middle and high schoolers. Do you like crafts? We've got something for you. Do you like gaming? We've got something for you? Do you like reading? Oh boy, we've got lots for you!

"ForEvery Monday during Summer Reading (July 6-August 13), a new craft kit will be available at the Tabb Youth Services desk and the Grafton Annex. You can learn to make a dragon egg, make toys for your favorite fury friends, and even make an adorably weird blobfish plushie (pictured at right).

Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., we'll have programs just for middle and high schoolers at Tabb Library. Come join us for a game day, learn how to use recycled materials to make a birdfeeder, and even make a stop motion animation movie! Check out the full schedule by visiting our online Event Calendar.

"TeensRegistration for the YCPL Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program is open now! You can start logging your reading on July 6 to earn great midpoint and completion prizes. Teens are challenged to read for 15 hours, but we encourage you to read even more so we can reach our Community Reading goal of 10,000 hours read by or before August 13, 2021. If our Summer Reading participants reach this goal, staff at the Tabb Library will dress up like animals to celebrate! And don't forget that reading and completing our activity badges earn you tickets toward our awesome raffle prizes. Go to the YCPL Beanstack website to register and find out more! If you have any questions, contact the YCPL Youth Services department at 757-890-5110 or email youthservices@yorkcounty.gov.

Happy Reading!
