"The Summer reading returns to the York County Public Library in June! This year's theme is Imagine Your Story, in which we celebrate fairy tales, folk tales, fables, mythology, and more. With that in mind, our librarians have created lists of suggestions of some of our favorite books — both physical and digital — available for you to check out from York County Public Library. We will feature these lists here throughout the month of June.

Audiobooks

Today we'll highlight some of our favorite audiobooks. Narrators bring life to all kinds of books, from realistic fiction to horror to fantasy and more! No matter your interests, there is an audiobook for you! See our favorites below. 

  • Swing by Kwame Alexander"Swing
    Summary: A novel-in-verse about two best friends who decide to change their luck and their lives will speak to anyone who has ever struggled to take a swing at life.
  • Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand
    Summary: A frightening standalone contemporary teen horror novel about three girls who take on an insidious monster that preys upon young women.
  • Ogre Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
    Summary: A clever heroine is determined to defy expectations, and outwit a fairy's curse.

Registration for the 2020 Summer Reading Program at York County Public Library started June 8. This year, our Summer Reading Program will be exclusively online, using the Beanstack platform. All ages can log minutes spent reading, complete activities and earn badges. To earn prizes, reading minutes and activities must be logged between June 22 and July 31.
