January 08, 2026
2026 is shaping up to be a momentous year in Historic Yorktown! From 250th anniversary celebrations to outdoor concerts, festivals, and historic reenactments, the 2026 events calendar is jam-packed with experiences for visitors of all ages.
From June 12–14, witness breathtaking tall ships and military vessels as they grace the York River during the Sail Yorktown Festival, an official SailVirginia℠ 2026 Affiliate Harbor event. The weekend will feature a spectacular Parade of Sail, artillery demonstrations, history exhibits, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and a free concert by the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra at the Yorktown Victory Monument.
On the Fourth of July, Yorktown will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a townwide parade, an enhanced fireworks display, a free outdoor concert, and more.
The popular Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival will have a country flair this year, rebranding as Boots, Brews & BBQ. Yorktown’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series will expand to 14 weeks, taking place on Thursdays from May through August (except July 2). Additional fan-favorite events include the Yorktown Wine & Oyster Festival, Paws at the River, a Virginia Symphony Orchestra concert, Yorktown’s Battle of the Boats, Fall Festival, and Victory Weekend, which kicks off the countdown to 2031—the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown.
The 2026 season concludes with the annual Yorktown Celebrates Christmas events, including the Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas Market on Main, Lighted Boat Parade, Cookies with Santa, An Enchanted Evening on Main Street, and Mistletoe Market.
The popular Yorktown Market Days returns to Riverwalk Landing on Saturdays with special-themed markets on select dates. Four winter markets are scheduled to occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in February and March. The new market season officially begins April 11 with the Go Green & Garden Market. Markets will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. from April 11 through September 26 (excluding May 2, June 13, and July 4; some markets will be extended until 3 p.m.), and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on select Saturdays from October through December.
All events are FREE, unless otherwise noted. Grab your calendar to save the dates for Yorktown’s family-friendly events!
